News - KEiBA

And the #KEiBA2015 winners are…

The winners of this year’s Kent Excellence in Business Awards (KEiBA) celebrated their success at a sparkling event at the Kent Event Centre, Detling on Thursday, June 25. The ceremony, staged and produced by Kent County Council and the KM Media Group, awarded businesses and individuals across 15 categories.

Mark Dance, Cabinet Member for Regeneration & Economic Development at Kent County Council said: “As ever the standard of entries was extraordinary and selecting the 46 finalists was a very tough task – it just shows you the calibre of the businesses we have in Kent. I’d like to congratulate everyone who entered and those that won. It was great to meet everyone involved in businesses in Kent and recognising and promoting their successes and achievements in this way.”

This year KEiBA had its the biggest ever entry level with over 300 entries for judges to consider. In addition, the awards event, which was hosted by kmfm’s Rob Wills and Nicola Everett, had its largest attendance with 630 people from across the Kent business community taking part in the celebrations.

The event also saw the launch of a new website for KEiBA which was designed and created by The Hideout – a design and digital marketing agency based in Ulcombe. It has supported KEiBA since its launch having created the original website back in 2009.

Geraldine Allinson, Chairman of KM Media Group, said: “This was the seventh Kent Excellence in Business Awards and last night’s event raised the game, yet again. It truly has become Kent’s business night of the year. My congratulations go to the finalists and worthy winners for achieving so much in continuing tough economic times. All of the entrants this year were of a very high standard and Kent has once again shown that it really is the place to do business.”

For seven years KEiBA has showcased the strongest, most vibrant businesses and business people from across Kent.

Among those celebrating was Swanstaff Recruitment Ltd in Dartford – the first ever triple winner achieving success in the Large Business of the Year, Employer of the Year and Entreprenuer of the year.

As in previous years, the awards evening benefited two local charities – Porchlight, supporting those dealing with homelessness and poverty and Oasis, which provides temporary and safe refuge for families escaping domestic abuse.

For the first time the awards event offered a significant number of young people in Kent a learning experience. On the night a number of students from across Kent’s colleges provided their services as waiting staff along with apprentice chefs in the kitchen.

A student from Hadlow College created a flower arrangements for the event and another student, Jack Mashford, from Canterbury College designed the cover for the KEiBA book handed out on the night.
