KEiBA 2015 finalists announced at Kent 2020

From cheesemakers to wildlife parks, the finalists for this year’s Kent Excellence in Business Awards (KEiBA) have been announced today (Wednesday, May 13) at Kent 2020 Vision.

The list of 46 nominees in 15 categories represents companies from across the county, from Westerham to Dover and Broadstairs to Dartford and was the outcome of a final judging session led by Geoff Miles, Chairman of KEiBA Judges on Monday (May 11).

KEiBA was founded seven years ago and is run jointly between the KM Media Group and Kent County Council. This year there are 40 different organisations up for awards and they all have six weeks to wait to find out whether they are a winner at the awards ceremony being held for the third time at the Kent Event Centre, Kent Showground, Detling, on June 25.

As in previous years, the awards evening will benefit two local charities which this year are Porchlight, supporting those dealing with homelessness and poverty and Oasis, which provides temporary and safe refuge for families escaping domestic abuse. Tickets for the awards presentation gala dinner can be purchased at keiba.co.uk

Mark Dance, Cabinet Member for Regeneration & Economic Development at Kent County Council said: “As ever the standard of entries was extraordinary and selecting the 46 finalists was a very tough task – it just shows you the calibre of the businesses we have in Kent.

I’d like to congratulate all of those that have made it this far. The final in June will really allow those finalists to shine. I look forward to meeting them all and recognising and promoting their successes and achievements. For seven years KEiBA showcases the strongest, most vibrant businesses and business people from across Kent.

KM Media Group chairman Geraldine Allinson said: “I would like to congratulate all the finalists in another record-breaking year for KEiBA entries. I was delighted to see such an enthusiastic response from businesses and organisations from across the county. Once again, the standard was very high and the judges clearly faced a tough job selecting the best of the best. There are some remarkable stories of enterprise, risk-taking and outstanding achievement among all the finalists. Reaching this stage really is a benchmark of excellence. I wish all the finalists good luck and very much look forward to hearing the results at the gala dinner in June”
